One of the highlights of my Mondays: Urban Outfitters Music Mondays. Five free tracks every Monday. They are keeping my music palate fresh. Because they are doing such a service, I am going to pass on the blessing to you, my faithful readers.
And so I present: UO Music Monday, November 30, 2009

When a person leaves a church, even for all the right reasons, people often assume offense is the reason for the person leaving. This can make it awkward to visit people from that church, even when there are strong friendships built there. We have been fortunate in our recent move to not encounter many awkward situations. Last night we had the opportunity to go a birthday for 2 great friends who also happen to be pastors from the church we left. Everyone we met with was very kind and genuinely interested in how we have been doing over the last month and a half.
The most significant conversation of the evening was the one that was the least expected and with the last couple we would have predicted we would share this exchange with. I ran into the worship leader from our old church and we started talking about what I have been doing since the move and after sharing about my new "position" as worship leader he started to share some of the most valuable advice with me. After a few minutes our wives joined in and the synergy the wives brought just elevated the richness and wealth of the wisdom the pastor and his wife were able to share. They were able to help us through some issues that we have been dealing with and were able to encourage us to continue doing what God is leading us to do.
On our way home, Melissa and I were talking about the evening and discussing a particular situation that we were talking about with the pastor and his wife. It was in that moment that God spoke to me. He told me that I did the exact same thing to my previous leader that a team member was doing with me. I immediately repented and called my previous leader, who is also a great friend, to repent to him. We then had a great conversation and he was able to encourage me in my current situation.
In the end, God moved in many situations and just proved his faithfulness. I am being humbled everyday by how God is moving in the most random of situations. He is showing me the importance of being led by the Spirit.

Wow. I haven't blogged in 8 months. I think it is for a couple of reasons. First, I've been way to busy. It is so easy to get consumed with work, ministry, and family. Second, Twitter is so much easier. I love being able to just shoot out a thought here or there without having to sit down at a computer and try to formulate my thoughts, then have to proofread, etc. Third, I haven't had much to write about. My schedule was pretty redundant. I would wake up, go to work (nothing interesting there), come home, watch TV with the wife, go to sleep, repeat.
So much blog-worthy stuff has happened over this last month, and I'm looking forward to sharing my new journey with you via this blog.
I am not a very wordy person, so I hope that I can get back in the flow of this thing called "blogging". Thanks to those of you that have stayed updated on my journey via Twitter.
